D435 Main Propulsion Machinery is in search of an experienced engineer to support VIRGINIA, LOS ANGELES, and SEAWOLF Class in service propulsors and propeller engineering. As integral members of the Navy Propulsor Team, Engineers in this group provide high quality engineering, design, and manufacturing and construction support services to the Navy, new construction shipyards, and maintenance naval shipyards. The group is responsible for the fixed assembly propulsor design, ship integration of propulsor Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), and integration of ships systems that interface with propulsors. Engineers in the group work closely with mechanical design to create, review, and issue design disclosures supporting the propulsor program. The group frequently works with other members of the Navy Propulsor Team including Electric Boat’s shock, hydrodynamics, shafting and bearing engineering, electrical and ship signatures departments, and Navy laboratories.
