About The Position

Forward Slope is a fast-paced global engineering company with a great reputation in the Department of Defense industry for over 20 years. We are currently seeking a full-time Engineer/Scientist V to join our Global Security and Engineering Solutions Team in Charleston, SC. This position involves conducting comprehensive technology analysis and assessment related to C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) Systems, defining system designs, developing detailed systems specifications, and performing thorough systems analysis. The role also includes designing robust systems architectures, integrating C4ISR systems, developing test and evaluation criteria, and providing expert-level support for logistics activities related to C4ISR systems. The Engineer/Scientist V will serve as a subject matter expert, mentor junior staff, maintain documentation, and represent the organization in various forums. The position requires flexibility and adaptability to meet evolving project requirements.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Management Information Systems, or related field.
  • Fifteen (15) years of experience in C4ISR Systems, including technology analysis, design definition, systems specification, systems analysis, systems architecture, systems integration, test & evaluation criteria, and logistics support.
  • Recognized as an expert in GCCS-(M/J), Tactical Data Links, or Broad Spectrum Communications.
  • Currently hold an active U.S. security clearance or be able to obtain one.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Software Engineering Master (PSEM)/ Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) or with COR approval complete.
  • Vendor/platform specific certification (e.g., MCSD, MCAD, MCDBA, SCP, RHCP, CCNP, OCP).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive technology analysis and assessment related to C4ISR Systems.
  • Define system designs based on gathered requirements, ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure and operational needs.
  • Develop detailed systems specifications outlining functionality, performance criteria, and technical requirements necessary for successful implementation.
  • Perform thorough systems analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
  • Design robust systems architectures that optimize performance, interoperability, and scalability.
  • Integrate C4ISR systems and equipment seamlessly into existing infrastructure.
  • Develop comprehensive test and evaluation criteria to validate system performance, reliability, and security.
  • Provide expert-level support for logistics activities related to C4ISR systems.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in GCCS-M/J, Tactical Data Links, or Broad Spectrum Communications.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in C4ISR technologies and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Mentor and coach junior staff members.
  • Maintain documentation, including technical reports and design documents.
  • Represent the organization in meetings, conferences, and technical forums.
  • Adhere to established quality assurance processes and regulatory requirements.
