About The Position

The position involves supporting the implementation and maintenance of an ISO-based quality system, including conducting internal audits. The role requires leading inspection efforts on new products, particularly during the ramp-up phase, and transitioning towards process and product auditing as production rates increase. Responsibilities also include preparing and revising quality plans, inspection checklists, quality instructions, and forms, as well as training inspectors and production operators in basic measurement and inspection tasks. The individual will create and implement metrics and charts for tracking key product and process data, establish receiving inspection requirements, and oversee inspections while maintaining material certification and receiving inspection records. Collaboration with Purchasing is essential for handling supplier evaluations and non-conformances, and the role includes conducting qualification activities for new tooling and parts. The individual will identify and investigate non-conformances, driving to root cause and playing an active role in continuous improvement. Additional duties include conducting and coordinating various product tests, writing and revising documents related to quality, and supporting Engineering Change Request implementation and configuration management. Other duties and special projects may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing-related Engineering required.
  • Training and experience in field of quality, such as ISO 9001, SPC, Metrology and Internal Auditing preferred.
  • Composites or injection molding experience a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing quality.
  • Able to understand and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Understands principles of metrology and calibration.
  • Capable of performing advanced math and statistical calculations.
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Project Management: ability to organize and manage multiple projects.
  • Computer proficiency including MS Office and Minitab.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • ASQ certification is a plus.
