About The Position

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a B.S. in Engineering/Science
  • 5+ years’ proven experience in a Quality Engineer role in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9000 QM System and/or related quality systems and programs
  • Ability to support manufacturing schedules ( C-Shift; Fri-Sun; 5am – 5pm ) and overtime on as needed basis

Nice To Haves

  • American Society of Quality, Certified Quality Engineer certification
  • Experience in Aerospace, space launch, military/commercial aviation highly preferred.
  • Experience with IPC J-STD-001 (Space Addendum)
  • Experience with IPC 620 standard (IPC-WHMA-A-620)
  • Experience in GD&T fundamentals
  • Experience in conducting first article inspections (FAI)
  • Experience with quality tools such as Lean principles, Six Sigma, root cause analysis and corrective action
  • Experience with advanced product quality planning (APQP), process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA), control plans, and various problem-solving approaches
  • Quality Management System audit experience
  • Quality performance measurement analysis capabilities
  • Six Sigma Green, Black Belt, or comparable certification

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality systems, processes, and procedures in compliance with AS9100, ISO9000, and other relevant standards.
  • Conduct quality audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support manufacturing operations by providing quality expertise and ensuring products meet customer requirements.
  • Analyze quality data and trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Train and mentor team members on quality practices and procedures.
  • Participate in new product development projects to ensure quality is integrated from the outset.
  • Maintain documentation and records in accordance with quality system requirements.
  • Other activities as assigned
