About The Position

The Lean Process Engineer is responsible for developing and improving effective manufacturing processes at the company, in line with the company strategic planning, quality policy and the quality management system, including, defect prevention, inspection, process control and all regulatory activities such as ISO 9001.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Lean/Continuous Improvement in a manufacturing environment
  • Manufacturing Engineering / Process Engineering / Quality Assurance experience a plus
  • Knowledge of single piece flow lean manufacturing concepts
  • Knowledge of Toyota Production System
  • Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams
  • Proficiency in standard office computer programs and ability to learn additional software
  • Ability to lead, influence, train and problem solve
  • Extensive data analysis skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, efficiently works under pressure, within deadlines or other time essential constraints
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly and concisely communicate to all levels of the organization
  • Strong work ethic and an ability to excel within a rapidly changing and growing organization

Responsibilities

  • Work with team to develop useful and effective cellular process and product manufacturing methods
  • Prepare documentation for manufacturing and assembly operations
  • Train production personnel in new or existing methods
  • Provide technical expertise and support for production
  • Perform root cause analysis to resolve problems and reduce instances
  • Think creatively – discovering and identifying new ideas, methods and systems
  • Perform time studies, capacity analyses, layout / product flow analyses and standardized work
  • Help lead automation initiatives from planning stages to implementation
  • Manage, organize, assist with training and facilitate Kaizen (Process Improvement) and lean thinking implementation workshops to achieve company objectives
  • Participate in morning Gemba walks
  • Develops and maintains the standard labor hours, cycle time and takt time
  • Improve data collection process and train employees as needed
  • Raw materials benchmarking and selection process
  • Performs other duties as assigned
