Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Engineer / Principal Manufacturing Engineer Level 2/3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The position will be located in Clearfield, UT. This position supports a Monday – Thursday 4 x 10 schedule.

Requirements

  • Manufacturing Engineer (Level 2): Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 2 years of experience in the following engineering fields; Manufacturing, Quality, Electrical, Production, Industrial, Process, Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautics OR Masters with 0 years of experience.
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Must have active DoD Clearance prior to starting.
  • Must have active Special Program Access (PAR) prior to starting.
  • Manufacturing Engineer (Level 3): Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and 5 years of experience in the following engineering fields; Manufacturing, Quality, Electrical, Production, Industrial, Process, Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautics OR Masters with 3 years of experience OR PhD with 1 year of experience in mentioned fields.
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Must have active DoD Clearance prior to starting.
  • Must have active Special Program Access (PAR) prior to starting.

Nice To Haves

  • Active DoD Clearance.
  • Experience using DMAIC problem solving system.
  • Experience with composite manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience working with/programming Fanuc or similar robots.
  • Experience using NX or similar CAD software.
  • Experience using Smart MES or similar.
  • Demonstrated understanding of root cause / corrective action processes and techniques.
  • Experience using RCCA tools such as Five Why, Pareto, fishbone, etc.
  • Experience drafting, maintaining, and modifying work instructions and/or process specification.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) to develop and implement process improvements as well as support site initiatives.
  • Work closely with manufacturing personnel in the highly automated production of composite aerospace components.
  • Author, modify, and audit shop floor electronic work instructions (EWIs).
  • Perform root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities to permanently eliminate defects.
  • Troubleshoot production/equipment/program/tooling issues and implementing improvements and solutions.
