This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight. As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, your responsibilities include but are not limited to: Responsible for supporting metallic processes in Investment Casting (IC), inclusive of: Welding Heat Treat HIP Waterblast Cutoff Sandblast Blending Chemical Etch Dimensional inspection NDT processes (FPI, X-ray, Visual, UT, etc) Disposition of non-conformances (NC’s) for rework/repair/scrap Continuous improvement and clarification of written instructions for processing Statistically analyze and understand print-related dimensional and surface finish process data into useful summary reports using Excel®/Minitab®/JMP type applications. Interpret data for continuous process improvements to maximize Quality and reduce cost Collaborate with internal and external customers on quality related concerns; develop and present training materials to build quality awareness Demonstrate self-motivation and initiative, as well as ability to work in team environments Responsible for implementing timely, cost-effective solutions to resolve manufacturing roadblocks Execute aggressive timeline schedules for project execution Interface with other engineers and hourly operations personnel to ensure projects fit the demonstrated manufacturing requirement Other responsibilities as assigned
