Job Summary We are seeking a Plant Support Engineer to join the HVAC, Chillers, and Cranes Engineering Group in support of the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our nuclear power facility. This position provides technical engineering expertise for plant systems, supports day-to-day operational needs, and ensures compliance with regulatory, safety, and design requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, collaborative, and effective in a highly regulated environment. The Plant Support Engineer is responsible for identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving plant issues and serves as a key liaison between Engineering and the Operations, Production, and Maintenance organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline associated with power plant operations, or equivalent work experience; Equivalent experience is defined as demonstrated success at the engineer or technical specialist level
  • Experience in nuclear power design engineering, systems engineering, operations, or equivalent is required
  • All experience levels will be considered; a minimum of four (4) years of engineering experience is preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills
  • Physical ability and willingness to perform plant walkdowns and field inspections
  • Broad technical understanding of HVAC systems, chillers, and cranes, including the ability to support system modifications
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements and technical standards

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for nuclear plant systems, including troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and implementation of corrective actions
  • Evaluate plant conditions and develop technical solutions to maintain system reliability and required safety margin
  • Support plant operations, maintenance activities, and outage planning and execution as required
  • Prepare, review, and approve engineering analyses, calculations, and design change packages
  • Ensure compliance with NRC regulations, plant Technical Specifications, and applicable industry codes and standards
  • Participate in root cause evaluations and corrective action programs
  • Interface effectively with Operations, Maintenance, Licensing, and Regulatory personnel
  • Complete required training and maintain qualifications necessary to perform assigned engineering functions
  • Serve as a member of the station Emergency Response Organization (ERO)
