About The Position

Primary purpose:Responsible for supporting Kinder Morgan's Pipeline Safety Program to ensure compliance with pipeline safety regulatory requirements and supporting with data documentation and procedures by compiling and analyzing various data sources, knowing and understanding data sources, planning and coordinating acquisition of data for various reporting purposes and maintain and monitor various reports and procedures.Essential duties and responsibilities:Responsible for the upkeep of procedures including leading the Action Decision Committee (ADC) and maintaining the Natural Gas Business Unit Operations and Maintenance procedures, updates, and posting to SharePoint.Maintain the Codes and Standards document repository and periodically perform quality assurance reviews of its contentsPreparing and submitting timely internal reports that include the Pipeline Safety Report, the Legal Proceedings Report, and several team Key Performance Indicators Reports and dashboard.Responsible for leading the Federal and State Pipeline Safety Annual Reports process inclusive of planning, organizing, collecting, reviewing, and filing the reports on a timely basis. Submit other regulatory filings as needed.Provide administrative support of the Management of Change (MOC) process for the Natural Gas Business Unit.Manage and maintain Industry Standards portal inclusive of annually reviewing and analyzing usage and renewing subscriptions.Serve as subject-matter expert in regulations and company procedures to provide guidance to internal customers in Field Operations, Project Management, Integrity, and Engineering.Perform monthly Quality Assurance of the Codes and Standards tracking worksheets against agency and KM database. Prepare reports for management with a focus on process improvement.Participate in Business Unit Emergency Release Line (ERL) Team - on call 24/7 on a rotating schedule.Participate in Business Unit Emergency Response when requested - liaison with federal and state/provincial pipeline safety agencies.Participate in Root Cause Analysis and various other investigations related to pipeline incidents, as circumstances require.Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering and 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Significant experience and knowledge of US Code of Federal Regulations Title 49 §190-199 and applicable state pipeline safety regulations.
  • Working experience and application knowledge of various pipeline industry related standards such as API, ASME, NACE, NFPA, and others.
  • Experience of working directly with government regulating agency representatives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with individuals at all levels in the organization
  • Must be able to work with confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner.
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal direct supervision.
  • Must be capable of completing and tracking multiple tasks simultaneously, and often under strict deadlines.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills required.
  • Intermediate to excellent proficiency level in computer skills (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company and its insurers.
  • Current and Valid Passport for international travel.
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s) and lead personnel, focus attention on details, follow work rules, and adhere to established work schedules.
  • Be able to work in appropriate Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) in both hot and cold climates.

  • Knowledge of CSA Z662 is a plus.
  • Working experience and knowledge of Management of Change Processes a plus.
