As the Architecture Network Engineer, you will work with AFSOC Headquarters Team in support of command projects and initiatives. The Network Engineer will serve as the lead expert within the organization. In this role, you will support: Decomposing and refining requirements into technical performance parameters and specifications. Designing terrestrial and non-terrestrial network architectures and standards including LAN, WAN using a wide range of communications and transport mediums. Assisting in the definition of technical feasibility and viability of existing solutions to support emerging requirements and operational needs. Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure awareness of project milestones, capability roadmaps, fielding and release schedules. Managing threshold and objective feature, capability, and use cases to ensure development and delivery of capability solutions are synchronized to meet integrated network architectures and service performance requirements. Forecasting total network lifecycle cost for the project(s) and maintaining/sustaining data and information to support outyear cost forecasting for mission partners. Determining project schedules by studying project plans and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements. Maintaining project schedules by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving impediments and problems. Coordinating amongst various teams in different engineering disciplines to present a unified, integrated network product or network service to project stakeholders. Preparing project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends, and recommending actions as it relates to network enterprise architectures and related activities. Defining, generating, and reviewing project requirements documentation. Performing risk management to minimize project risks. Ensuring that project management methodologies used are in line with organizational processes, templates, and formats. Leading (when required) teams through complex network and IT Communications interoperability problems to meet urgent operational needs. Engaging with and managing the work of subcontractor installation companies. Serving as an advocate, owning your services and working to enhance value, operational viability and customer strategy in the areas of network operations, and warfighter effectiveness.
