About The Position

The Aerospace MRB (Material Review Board) Engineer is responsible for evaluating, dispositioning, and resolving nonconforming aerospace hardware and materials. This role ensures product conformity, airworthiness, and compliance with engineering, regulatory, and customer requirements while minimizing production impact and cost. The MRB Engineer works cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Design Engineering to implement effective corrective actions and prevent recurrence.

Requirements

  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing, MRO, or defense environments.
  • Strong understanding of MRB processes and nonconformance management.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS9100, AS9110, or AS9120).
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements (FAA, EASA, or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review and disposition nonconforming material through MRB processes (use-as-is, repair, rework, scrap).
  • Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and requirements to determine compliance and disposition options.
  • Develop and approve repair and rework instructions in accordance with engineering and regulatory standards.
  • Perform root cause analysis and support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering on deviations, concessions, and engineering changes.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, FAA/EASA regulations, customer requirements, and internal procedures.
  • Support production and manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues and minimize downtime.
  • Interface with suppliers regarding nonconformances and corrective actions.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and customer reviews as required.
  • Maintain accurate MRB documentation, traceability, and configuration control.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and recurring nonconformances.
