E92 Model Based Engineering (MBE) team, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Model-Based Engineer to join our innovative team and support our efforts to revolutionize how we design, build, and sustain aircraft carriers and submarines. The primary responsibility of this team members will be to support projects in the MBe Innovation Cell (iCELL). The ideal candidate will leverage digital engineering techniques to support the lifecycle management process to develop, test, implement innovative engineering & design solutions for complex shipbuilding projects. This individual will require a solid understanding of current engineering processes as well as an overall understanding of how ships are designed, planned, constructed, and maintained. This position includes a range of responsibilities including leading R&D-related projects, systems engineering, process & tool solution development (including CAD, CAE, cloud infrastructure, etc.), application of industry standards, project management, and support strategy development. This person will be supporting the new Submarine design and legacy programs with a focus on the use of a model based environment to research, test, and implement digital engineering solutions. The focus areas are to define “what" and to “what level" these solutions should be considered for NNS programs followed as well as “how” to manage the associated environment and data. An ideal candidate should have basic knowledge of and a willingness to learn emerging technology enablers, including model based analysis and simulation concepts, product development lifecycle (PLM) software, product requirements management, and the software development lifecycle.
