About The Position

Primary purpose: To perform a broad range of engineering duties required for the accurate measurement and control of gas and liquids on company pipeline and midstream assets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Engineering or a related field, or 4 years of relevant industry experience
  • Knowledge of natural gas measurement practices.
  • Knowledge of crude oil measurement practices.
  • Advanced proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Proficiency in SQL and other query languages
  • Proficiency with data analysis, including trending and identifying correlations
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel)
  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules
  • Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines
  • Ability to organize and prioritize daily work

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with oil and natural gas measurement, transportation, and processing.
  • Experience with CO2 measurement, transportation, and processing, including dense phase and gas phase.
  • Experience with NH3 and/or H2 measurement, transportation, and processing.
  • Experience with pipeline contaminant monitoring analyzers and mitigation practices.
  • Experience with gas chromatography.
  • Experience with product sampling and conditioning best practices.
  • Experience with gathering assets and Bureau of Land Management regulations.
  • Knowledge of energy industry measurement standards such as AGA, API, GPA, etc.
  • Knowledge of transmission pipeline operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical construction drawings and diagrams, cause/effect diagrams and Piping and Instrument Drawings (P&ID’s).
  • Working knowledge of Bristol/Fisher/Emerson EFM hardware and software.
  • Working knowledge of common ultrasonic and Coriolis meter hardware and software
  • Experience writing SQL queries for data analysis.
  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis methods.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field audits of measurement facilities
  • Perform L&U investigations and recommend or implement corrective actions
  • Witness and facilitate 3 rd party audits of company measurement facilities
  • Provide support to field operations to resolve technical problems related to measurement, including accuracy, repeatability, witnessing, auditing, and routine or annual verifications
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, standards, and changes
  • Schedule and coordinate field work as needed
  • Develop and maintain measurement device diagnostic systems and tools
  • Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism
  • Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully
  • Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance
  • Will work non-traditional hours as needed
  • Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public
  • Other daily, weekly, monthly or special project duties as identified and defined
