About The Position

Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service. The role involves maintaining various equipment and systems within the hotel, including laundry and kitchen equipment, HVAC units, and lighting. Responsibilities also include painting, preventative maintenance, welding, and assisting with fire safety machinery. The position requires logging calls for repairs, performing chemical tests for various systems, and operating the BMS computer system. The individual will be part of the fire response team and must be prepared for emergencies.

Requirements

  • Previous General Mechanic experience required.
  • Must be a licensed locksmith and provide proof.
  • Ability to work in varying noise levels from moderate to extreme.
  • Ability to encounter different temperature extremes.
  • Ability to come in contact with chemicals.
  • Ability to work with moving parts and electrical currents.
  • Must be able to climb and work at different heights.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to work in cramped and tight places.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies such as water, electrical, and physical damages.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service.
  • Maintain the laundry equipment.
  • Maintain the kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain all lighting throughout the hotel.
  • Paint all areas of the hotel including prepping and sanding for all related jobs.
  • Maintain all HVAC units.
  • Maintain all motors, belts, bearings, etc.
  • Maintain all shop tools and equipment.
  • Assist the Fire Prevention Officer to maintain Life Safety machinery and equipment, including pumps and emergency diesel.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled by the Engineering Office.
  • Perform all necessary welding as required.
  • Complete all work orders pertaining to the hotel.
  • Assist other trades as required.
  • Conduct rounds of specified areas.
  • Install and remove microphones as requested.
  • Answer all calls and perform repairs; notify the supervisor if unable to repair.
  • Log all calls in the log book.
  • Perform chemical tests for boilers, chillers, swimming pool, etc.
  • Operate BMS computer system.
  • Be part of the fire response team and stand by in the event of emergencies.
