About The Position

The NASA SES III contract provides ETD IT services for engineering facilities and labs. These tasks include maintaining the system and infrastructure security, documentation of the infrastructure and the support of projects as requested. This task includes maintaining, developing, and documenting software required for environmental testing, data analysis, and visualization as needed. The areas that will be supported include but are not limited to: Center Network Environment (CNE) support, Special Management Attention (SMA) flight project support, Spacecraft Testing Complex (STC) and Advanced Manufacturing Group (AMG) support. Location: This position is located at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. This position is primarily on-site with some telework allowed.

Requirements

  • Experience with creating and maintaining NASA GSFC specific test and operation applications written with various tools and languages including, but not limited to: Microsoft Visio, Project, MATLAB, Python, LABVIEW, Pro-E, GE iFIX SCADA, Power Builder, MS SQL, Oracle SQL, C, Visual Basic, Modicon PLC, Intellution, iRMX, and Reliance Automax. Other languages and tools may be used as appropriate.
  • LabVIEW certification for monitoring and control efforts.
  • 7 years of system administration, systems engineering, ISSO, or software development experience.
  • BS degree or equivalent experience, in computer sciences, engineering or mathematics.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain applications to improve the efficiency of the STC. Applications may include, but not be limited to; Clean Room, Pre-clean app, Financial Reporting, Thermal Vacuum Data System (TVDS) Oracle / SQL Server, Tool Crib, etc.
  • Develop, configure and maintain a SharePoint site and support personnel use. SharePoint Online support shall include providing additional training for the software engineer that will eventually be fully responsible for maintaining the site.
  • Develop and maintain workflows such as Storm Code Waiver, Safety Evaluation Form, and others to improve the overall effectiveness of communications and efficiency in the 527 I&T organization.
  • Support the modernization process for both hardware and software in the I&T complex by increasing the use of LabVIEW for monitoring and control.
  • Assist the customer with defining the requirements for incorporating LabVIEW into the TVDS and helping design an infrastructure and architecture to incorporate the requirements.
  • Lead the programming effort to create the applications and programs needed to ensure the successful implementation of the modernization effort.
