CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Engineer IV to join our Electric Transmission Team at a client site in Spring Valley, NY. This is an exciting opportunity to lead technical execution on impactful projects, coach junior engineers, and contribute to solutions that strengthen and modernize the power grid.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required
  • Minimum of 4 years of discipline-specific engineering experience required; previous transmission engineer experience required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Advanced proficiency in engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, MicroStation, PLS-CADD, etc.), as well as Microsoft Office required; AutoCAD experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment as well as independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with clients on a regular basis

  • Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced judgement and analysis techniques to complete complex engineering designs, technical reports, specifications, and contract documents for electric overhead transmission projects such as rebuilding existing overhead transmission lines, designing new green field transmission lines, and supporting utility project scoping
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of projects with other engineering disciplines and project management staff
  • Monitor project progress and performance to ensure efficient production and minimize issues across critical electric transmission initiatives
  • Complete projects within budget and scheduling constraints, supporting sustainable, cost-effective, and future-ready grid solutions
  • Provide guidance and technical review for junior engineering staff working on electric overhead transmission and power delivery projects
