Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). This position will be located at NASA’s White Sands Test Facility (WSTF) in the Laboratories Department. EOE/Minority/Female/Disabled/Veteran Responsibilities Engineer or Scientist and Project Lead sought to support design, build, and testing of hazardous test systems within the Materials Components and Testing Department. Conducting hazardous liquids, gasses or cryogenic testing involving a variety of test methods, temperatures, pressures, and test configurations. Preparation of detailed work instruction documents, including direction and oversight for mechanical technicians in a union environment. Project Lead for large scale, multi-discipline, multi-site projects, ensuring projects are within budget and schedule. Management of pressure systems to ASME and NASA site specific requirements. This includes designing and maintaining pressure systems to include flow, pressure, compatibility, and stress calculations to allow for safe personnel operation. Preparation and presentation of informal and formal briefings to the customer and internal management. Position could also support other Laboratory Department groups, such as Oxygen Group or Hypervelocity, depending on department workload demands.
