If you are a person with a relentless drive to succeed, a strong focus on quality with a passion for success – join us today!  UCT is looking for a talented Engineer IV to join us in Phoenix, AZ!  The Builds Engineer IV is responsible for leading, managing, and executing complex build-related engineering projects across multiple product lines and facilities. This role requires advanced technical expertise combined with strong leadership and program-management skills to drive cross-functional teams, ensure project completion, and deliver high-quality builds that meet scope, cost, and schedule requirements.  The individual in this position will oversee the planning, coordination, installation, testing, and release of new and modified equipment or processes. Responsibilities include developing technical solutions, implementing process improvements, ensuring manufacturing readiness, and mentoring junior engineering staff.

Requirements

  • of AutoCAD expert.
  • Proficient knowledge of semiconductor cleaning processes.
  • Knowledgeable in Clean room protocols, and Micro contamination knowledge.
  • Advanced understanding of semiconductor Processes (PVD, Etch, ALD (Atomic Layer Deposition), Diffusion, etc.)
  • Project management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • ≥ 6-year experience in industry through engineering, facilities, or project management role.

Nice To Haves

  • FE preferred
  • Masters, PMP or equivalent, Lean Design, Design for manufacturing.
  • Experience with semiconductor industry is preferred, experience in automotive, medical device, or aerospace industries is also applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver build projects on time and within budget, managing scope, risks, and resources.
  • Serves as the primary technical and project lead for high-visibility or high-complexity build initiatives across sites.
  • AutoCAD expert creates dimensionally accurate facility layouts, electrical, plumbing, control, and equipment installation diagrams on AutoCAD for facility expansions or changes based on existing as-builts.
  • Establishes and maintains project timelines, Gantt charts, milestones, budgets, and communication plans.
  • Mentors and guides junior engineers, providing technical direction, training, and development.
  • Partners with leadership define build strategy, resource planning, and long-term capability development.
  • Oversee design elements involved in modifications, new builds, equipment installations, and facility improvements.
  • Creates and reviews technical documentation including layouts, drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and build packages.
  • Develops build equipment matrices and ensures accurate definition of equipment requirements, installation methods, and construction stages.
  • Leads complex troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of technical issues related to equipment, manufacturing processes, and integration.
  • Understands facilities and process equipment to recommend improvements and incorporated into new designs.
  • Understanding of code requirements per project location.
  • Coordinates with general contractors, facilities teams, and external suppliers to resolve issues during design and construction.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, EH&S, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure alignment across build activities.
  • Provides technical guidance to internal and external partners to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient equipment installation and startup.
  • Drives data-driven decision-making using engineering analysis, statistical methods, and operational metrics.
  • Job requires travelling to project job sites for 2 weeks or more to be successful.
  • Periods of >40% travel is possible with job.
  • Present project updated and proposals to executive leadership team and customers.
