This position will play a critical role in supporting high-impact research initiatives related to the research and development of clinical chemistry biosensors, analyzers and consumables. This individual will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists to design and execute cutting-edge research projects, with the goal of translating those projects to development and production. The role involves close collaboration with both internal departments and external partners to drive innovation and achieve research objectives.

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team in the research and development of new types of biosensors for use in clinical chemistry analyzers and consumables.
  • Make and guide key technical decisions throughout the course of research and development activities.
  • Perform hands-on laboratory work as part of active experimental programs.
  • Coordinate closely with internal teams and external collaborators to align project milestones and deliverables.
  • Prepare and present project status updates and technical reports to stakeholders.
  • Establish and monitor direct report performance and development goals, set objectives, establish priorities, and provide continuous feedback and recognition on performance.
  • Ph.D. in Chemical or Biomedical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related field is preferred.
  • Minimum five years of relevant industry experience in bioanalytical chemistry or similar.
  • Proven experience integrating complex, automated life sciences or clinical systems.
  • Experience in in vitro diagnostics, including development, testing, or system integration strongly preferred.
  • Experience with test method development and validation and/or statistical analysis is highly desirable.
  • Supervisory/management experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electroanalytical biosensors and other assay formats used for clinical analysis.
  • Expert level understanding of various clinical chemistry methods, such as electrochemistry, enzyme-based sensors, dissolved gas measurements, ion-selective electrodes, spectrophotometry, turbidimetry, etc.
  • Solid foundation in analytical techniques, experimental design, and statistical analysis is preferred.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
