About The Position

Responsibilities • Assist in preparing structural calculations for building projects, including gravity and lateral force-resisting systems (wind and seismic), under the supervision of licensed engineers. • Support structural design and detailing using steel and reinforced concrete systems in accordance with IBC and applicable local Las Vegas / Clark County codes. • Help develop and coordinate structural drawings and documents with architects and other engineering disciplines. • Review shop drawings and assist with back-checks of revised structural drawings to verify conformance with design intent. • Assist in responding to Requests for Information (RFIs) and providing technical support during the construction phase. • Perform basic field observations or site visits as needed and assist in documenting findings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred) or near completion of degree.
  • Fundamental understanding of steel and reinforced concrete design principles.
  • Basic familiarity with gravity and lateral structural systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and calculations.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn in a collaborative engineering environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or intent to pursue licensure.
  • Exposure to building codes such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318.
  • Familiarity with structural software or drafting tools (AutoCAD, Revit, RISA, ETABS, SAP2000, or similar).
