The Environmental Engineer Intern will help support the Environmental and Sustainability Function and be responsible to take on project assignments or tasks assisting engineers or operations essential to the success of the team. Oshkosh is committed to establishing a proactive approach in promoting Environmental and Sustainable practices and awareness into business planning and operational processes. Internship to start May 2026.

Requirements

  • Student working towards a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or other related environmental field for entire duration of internship

Nice To Haves

  • GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in extracurricular activities outside academic requirements.
  • Relevant coursework.

Responsibilities

  • Work on special sustainability and environmental projects and initiatives
  • Assist the environmental team with;
  • Involvement with various environmental compliance tasks and projects.
  • Providing technical environmental sustainability and compliance services to operations.
  • Providing technical assistance to management, employees, and others on matters regarding compliance, permitting, sustainability, and reporting.
  • Researching, analyzing, and/or preparing information including but not limited to:
  • Permit applications
  • Governmental rules, regulations, codes, and standards
  • Air emission inventories
  • Environmental reports and disclosures
  • Assist in compiling and preparing Environmental Key Performance Metrics such as waste, recycling and energy.
  • Review SDSs and update as needed in the SDS system and other environmental management systems.
