Engineer Intern - Computer
About The Position
Are you passionate about software development, automation, and solving real-world engineering challenges? Sierra Pacific Industries is offering a hands-on internship opportunity for aspiring Computer Engineers to work directly with our fabrication shop team in Anderson, California. This fast-paced role supports the development of innovative software and hardware solutions that enhance production efficiency and user experience. Interns will collaborate with experienced engineers to design, build, and maintain high-performance systems and interfaces that integrate with cutting-edge sensor technologies and automation tools.
Requirements
- College-level coursework or degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Familiarity in C++, .Net, Python (Visual Studio experience preferred)
- Knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MSSQL
- Solid understanding of college-level mathematics, especially trigonometry
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
Nice To Haves
- Exposure to AI technologies (e.g., Computer Vision, PyTorch), Django, and Microsoft WPF is a plus
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with control and automation engineers to develop software solutions for production environments
- Work with advanced sensor technologies that integrate them into production systems
- Build and refine user interfaces to improve usability and operator experience
- Conceptualize and prototype new software and hardware tools
- Communicate professionally with end-users and technical teams
- Travel to other locations as needed
