This role is fully competent in all conventional aspects of the subject matter. This is an Engineering/Engineering Technical Specialist series posting. Successful candidate will provide engineering support in designated company area, or specific engineering discipline. Performs and/or reviews engineering calculations, analysis, research and design. Provides cost analysis as needed and develops recommendation based on calculations (e.g. cost for equipment upgrade) for management review. Distinguished from Associate Engineer by increased complexity in application of engineering skills required. Under direction of supervisor or work leader, exercises independence in evaluating, selecting and applying standard or well-defined engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Uses independent judgment in prioritizing and making moderately complex adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require investigation of a limited number of variables. This position will be assigned to Distribution Grid Planning department. The successful candidate will be a member of a team that provides technical support for Grid Planning, Grid Resiliency, Grid Modernization, and Integrated Distribution Planning activities by performing advanced system studies, analyses, and modeling in support of long-range distribution grid planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
  • 2+ years of relevant engineering experience for Engineer position.
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience for Senior Engineer position.
  • 8+ years of relevant engineering experience for Staff Engineer position.
  • 2+ years of relevant technical experience for Engineering Technical Specialist II.
  • 5+ years of relevant technical experience for Engineering Technical Specialist III.
  • Knowledge and application of engineering theories and principles, concepts, and fundamentals.
  • Competency in applying engineering principles, fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Effective decision-making skills and ability to think analytically and solve complex problems.
  • Ability to interpret codes, regulations, and practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong electrical engineering background, preferably in electric power systems.
  • Developmental experience in a professional engineering position.
  • Ability to develop and exercise leadership skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including technical writing.
