Toyota's Integrated Vehicle Systems (IVS) Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Automated Design System Engineer. We are seeking an experienced integrator with a robust background in advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for integrating various software modules into a unified, fully functional ADAS component, while driving end-to-end testing—from simulation (SIL/HIL) to bench and on-vehicle validation. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who has independently built testing environments, both on the bench and in the vehicle. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager of IVS, the person in this role will support the IVS department's objective.

  • Seamlessly combine disparate software modules into a fully operational, deployable component, ensuring that all signals are properly connected across every part of the system.
  • Develop and maintain robust integration frameworks to guarantee smooth, reliable communication between all modules.
  • Collaborate on system and software architecture design for new ADAS features.
  • Develop algorithms and software using iterative processes with C/C++, and MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Work with Figma, Flutter, and PyQt to develop early development HMI concepts.
  • Propose data-driven ADS and ADAS feature enhancements, translating them into actionable software implementations.
  • Design, build, and manage simulation environments (both Software-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop) to automate and streamline integration testing.
  • Conduct comprehensive bench tests and in-vehicle validations, ensuring that integrated systems perform reliably under real-world conditions.
  • Analyze test data using quantitative methods to track and visualize key performance indicators for informed decision-making.
  • Build framework to incorporate C Code with HMI Concept.
  • Drive prototype vehicles in simulated, closed-track, and public road environments to verify integrated system performance.
  • Independently set up and execute testing environments, demonstrating a strong command over both bench and vehicle test setups.
  • Plan, execute, and monitor project timelines while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with Japanese counterparts and Tier 1 suppliers to ensure global alignment on integration and testing processes.
  • Identify gaps in existing processes and propose sustainable, standardized improvements.
  • Engage in rapid problem investigation and root-cause analysis to facilitate timely resolutions during integration and testing phases.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience as an ADAS/software engineer with a strong focus on system integration.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and testing embedded software for automotive applications (using C, C++, MATLAB/Simulink).
  • Proven experience with setting up and managing simulation testing environments (SIL/HIL) and in-vehicle testing protocols.
  • Solid background in integrating software modules and validating their performance both on the bench and in the field.
  • Proven experience working with Figma and Flutter development.
  • Experience with continuous integration tools (e.g., Azure DevOps Pipelines) and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
  • Proficiency in integrating software that includes sensor data (camera, radar, lidar, sonar).
  • Experience with CAN (Controller Area Network) tools and troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to rapidly investigate and resolve integration issues.
  • Excellent organizational, negotiation, and communication skills, with experience guiding cross-functional teams through full-cycle software development.
  • Japanese OEM vehicle development experience is an asset.
  • Proven capability in collaborating with international teams and negotiating technical concepts with automotive companies and Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Ability to drive prototype test vehicles and secure any necessary driver certifications.
  • A work environment built on teamwork, flexibility, and respect.
  • Professional growth and development programs to help advance your career, as well as tuition reimbursement.
  • Team Member Vehicle Purchase Discount.
  • Toyota Team Member Lease Vehicle Program (if applicable).
  • Comprehensive health care and wellness plans for your entire family.
  • Toyota 401(k) Savings Plan featuring a company match, as well as an annual retirement contribution from Toyota regardless of whether you contribute.
  • Paid holidays and paid time off.
  • Referral services related to prenatal services, adoption, childcare, schools and more.
  • Tax Advantaged Accounts (Health Savings Account, Health Care FSA, Dependent Care FSA).
  • Relocation assistance (if applicable).
