About The Position

The Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for supporting existing Microsoft and Linux environment, acquisition network integrations, evaluating and recommending new technologies, implementing system security best practices and expanding hybrid cloud environment. This position is expected to report to and work from the Melville, NY office during normal business hours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5 years of on-premises networking, server, storage and virtualization experience
  • 5 years of Windows and Linux server administration and troubleshooting experience.
  • At least 5 years of proven project implementation experience for mid-size and enterprise environments
  • Proficiency in VMware vSphere, Cisco Meraki Networking and SD-WAN
  • Proficiency in Oracle Linux lifecycle management and automation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft networking, includes domain management, trusts, migrations, group policy, internal and external DNS and security.
  • Strong knowledge of Veeam Backup & Replication, storage technologies (Synology, Dell PowerVault), and Dell server platforms.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Cloud (Native, OCVS and DBCS)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server including life cycling and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with ITIL and ITSM methodologies.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE) or continuing education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain efficient and reliable site infrastructure environments including networking, wireless, virtualization, and backup solutions.
  • Plan and execute complex projects, including network/server upgrades, hybrid cloud/data center architecture, Active Directory domain upgrades, Office 365 tenant migrations, and disaster recovery activities.
  • Support Oracle Cloud and Microsoft Azure architecture; evaluate and recommend cloud microservices solutions.
  • Manage Linux lifecycles, automation, and troubleshooting for Oracle and Red Hat distributions.
  • Lead infrastructure projects related to company acquisitions, including Office 365 migrations, server migrations, and LAN/SD-WAN implementations.
  • Utilize and maintain infrastructure toolsets, including asset management, monitoring, and reporting applications.
  • Contribute to all aspects of global infrastructure implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and ongoing support to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • This position is required to take part in an on-call rotation, assisting the team and department members with critical outages after business hours.
