Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as an Industrial Engineer in the Amherst Systems business unit within the Navigation, Targeting, and Survivability division located in Buffalo, NY. We are looking for a self-starter who can work with minimal direction, has strong oral and written communication, a strong sense of accountability and interpersonal skills, and who’s able to successfully collaborate across organizations and functions to meet common objectives. The Manufacturing organization builds, and tests a variety of electronic components and systems used in the development, test, validation, and training of Electronic Warfare hardware, software, and personnel to ensure the safety and success of the warfighter. What you will get to do: Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, bottlenecks and improvement opportunities. Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of data sources and data gathering techniques. Develop dashboards and visualizations to monitor factory performance metrics such as yield, cycle time, throughput and equipment utilization. Forecast planning to evaluate manufacturing schedules, equipment capacities, and staffing levels. Perform root cause analysis on production issues using statistical and data-driven methods. Support process improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma and Industrial Engineering principles. Support data infrastructure and reporting improvements to increase visibility into manufacturing performance. Present analysis results and recommendations to engineering and operations leadership.
