About The Position
Delivering 1 COLUMBIA and 2 VIRGINIA Class submarines each year is critical to our nation's defense, and D931 needs you to help us achieve it! The Industrial Engineering organization provides mission-critical support to EB Leadership and the functional organizations by developing and managing the organization's improvement strategies, measuring the impact of improvement activities, and establishing the processes for the simultaneous build of VIRGINIA and COLUMBIA Class submarines. This team's mission is to improve Quonset Point's shipbuilding velocity to achieve the 1 COLUMBIA and 2 VIRGINIA Class delivery rate across manufacturing, steel, and outfitting. Day-to-day, you will have opportunities to interface and grow working relationships across operations, design and engineering, planning, ships management, and the naval customer, to identify improvement opportunities and help drive them to implementation. Good communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills are needed and will be further developed in this role. This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.
