About The Position

Engineer in Training II - Structures for Modjeski and Masters, Inc. to work at our Mechanicsburg, PA loc. May telecommute up to three days per week. Use Bentley Software for design, construction, + operation of bridges. Use Autodesk Design for 3D design of bridges. Apply appropriate mathematical models based on complexity of structure. Provide information to Project Manager or Senior Engineer regarding bridge design report details. Participate in review of load calculations to determine forces acting on bridge + resources required to build bridge. Complete preliminary bridge designs. Prepare initial draft copies of project related documents + correspondence. Assist in preparation of reports for cost involved in completing projects. Use engineering methodologies, principles, + tools to develop or improve technical products, systems, + processes that meet specified requirements + standards. Perform simple structural analysis to ensure design meets current safety standards. May undergo background checks incl drug screen. National travel to conferences + client sites + local travel for site visits is possible, not to exceed 15 days per year or 3 days in a single trip. Must have Bachelors in Civil or Structural Engineering, 2 years rel exp working on bridge-related design projects, and required skills (2 years exp). Alternatively, must have Masters in Civil or Structural Engineering, 1 year rel exp working on bridge-related design projects, and required skills (1 year exp). Required skills include: Constructions techniques, materials science, and hydraulics; safety standards; CAD; and relevant engineering codes and standards.   • Required skills include: Constructions techniques, materials science, and hydraulics; safety standards; CAD; and relevant engineering codes and standards.
  • Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
