Overview: Supports project teams using a wide range of developing professional skills. Performs basic engineering tasks requiring application of standard techniques and knowledge while working with the project team. Shows an interest and dedication in acquiring new skills and greater understanding of job expectations. Responsibilities: Executes the structural engineering tasks assigned or as otherwise directed under general supervision Assists in creation of implementation documents Performs effectively as a team member during design and/or construction phases Assists project team in applying building code provisions Works with interpreting material design standards Maintains active awareness of the production schedule for responsible task(s) Reviews completed tasks at key intervals for accuracy/completeness Performs structural CA tasks assigned by senior engineering staff including submittal review and response to project RFI’s Assists in communicating with other disciplines and project team members to ensure incorporation of information into project requirements Participates in team meetings to discuss project issues, coordination with other disciplines and technical issues May review project meeting notes and telephone conversations Travel may be required Qualifications: Education and Experience For summer intern roles, pursuit of professional degree at an accredited university is expected. Accredited professional degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering or related field Typically 0-3 years of experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Advanced – expert-level experience, knowledge or skills Intermediate – experience, knowledge or skills required to produce high-quality solutions or work Basic – familiar with primary concepts or capabilities and may perform elementary functions depending on role
