The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) enriches the environment and protects public health for all New Yorkers by providing 1.1 billion gallons of high quality drinking water, managing wastewater and stormwater, and reducing air, noise, and hazardous materials pollution. DEP is the largest combined municipal water and wastewater utility in the country, with nearly 6,000 employees. DEP's water supply system is comprised of 19 reservoirs and 3 controlled lakes throughout the system's 2,000 square mile watershed that extends 125 miles north and west of the City. The Bureau of Water & Sewer Operations seeks to hire an Administrative Engineer N/M to serve as the Engineer-in-Charge (EIC) of Capital Distribution and Drainage (Staten Island) within the Division of Capital Program Management. Working within the Bureau of Water and Sewer Operations (BWSO), under administrative direction of the Chief, Capital Program Management, the EIC of Capital Distribution and Drainage will have extremely wide latitude to exercise independent judgment, initiative and action in identifying, planning, coordinating, budgeting and overseeing the development and progress of drainage plans and capital sewer and water main projects located in Staten Island. The EIC will ensure approximately $1 billion of water and sewer infrastructure in the 10 year plan is delivered in a timely, efficient, and cost effective manner.
