Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in packaging operations encompassing vertical and horizontal form fill and seal machines, cartoning, case erectors, packers, and sealers, robotic operations, and all forms of package conveying.
  • Experience in a food processing environment preferred.
  • High speed pouching and blending experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and technical support to drive packaging operations performance and standardization across assigned processes and packaging lines.
  • Identify and remove barriers and collaborate with plant personnel to establish a sustainable system for improved production rates, lower costs, consistently high quality, and efficient changeovers.
  • Act as plant representative and consultant for packaging process changes.
  • Lead small capital projects for significant capital improvements.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive system for sustainable improvements in Packaging Rates, Uptime, and Quality.
  • Utilize and collaborate with plant technicians and engineers to accomplish initiatives.
  • Provide leadership in identifying and implementing packaging improvement initiatives resulting in increased attainment of OEE, rate, yields, and schedule attainment.
  • Participate in strategic direction regarding Packaging processes and equipment.
  • Investigate and determine production feasibility.
  • Identify tools, equipment, and methods to produce new products and support new product start-ups and integration.
  • Aid packaging techs in troubleshooting and training protocols for rapid problem resolution and improvement implementation.
  • Collaborate with maintenance on identifying equipment reliability issues and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Identify and implement improvements to ensure process consistency and capability across facilities.
  • Drive continuous improvement for packaging operations.
  • Analyze operational data to identify and prioritize chronic barriers to performance for targeted improvement.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with colleagues at all Post Consumer Brands manufacturing sites to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Understand rate capabilities for packaging operations, identify bottleneck operations preventing rate attainment, and implement improvements.
  • Develop standardized systems to define and sustain optimal processes and equipment set-ups.
  • Collaborate with packaging technology engineers on the development, evaluation, and integration of new packaging designs and enhancements.
