About The Position

This job is for full-time controls systems owner at Marshall Steam Station in Terrell, NC. Marshall is a four-unit 2200MW steam station. Replacement natural gas generation for two units will start in 2029. Control system support is provided on an as needed basis to the Lincoln CT site. The Engineer III position is the advanced level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees in the Engineer III position solve complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with limited supervision. An Engineer III is expected to develop advanced skills, and the ability to work with greater independence. An Engineer III effectively applies fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is progressively complex and varied. The Senior Engineer manages work in engineering areas of specialization, with minimal supervision. The Senior Engineer is expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently, with guidance limited to unusual or complex projects or issues. Employees in the Senior Engineer position are fully competent in the use of concepts and procedures. The Senior Engineer identifies problems, develops solutions and takes action to resolve. The controls system owner will work at the site, within the station’s technical team and provide direct support to plant operations and maintenance, primarily in the form of troubleshooting, problem solving, and technical recommendations for assigned plant systems and equipment. In addition, the successful candidate will participate in capital improvement and maintenance projects as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • 4 years of related experience for Engineer III
  • Bachelors in Engineering
  • 6 years related experience for Sr Engineer
  • Must have obtained Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience for Engineer III
  • Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer
  • A Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree.
