Duties: Design, detail, and implement molding process and equipment solutions which improve safety, quality, delivery and cost for new and existing molding production lines. Utilize molding and plastics knowledge and expertise to develop molds, tooling, fixtures, and equipment used in molding that optimize productivity, maintainability, and cost. Use scientific molding principles to perform mold tool qualifications, mold process characterization window study, and molding process qualifications. Define, produce and implement documents including engineering drawings, equipment qualifications, and process instructions. Troubleshoot injection molding machine, molding process, tool issues, molded part problems with scientific molding tools, take corrective actions plan and timelines. Collaborate with Design/Development Engineers, Tool Makers, Team Leaders, Technicians, Associates, Customers and Suppliers to evaluate and influence designs and processes for manufacturability and cost reduction. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field (or its foreign equivalent) plus 5 years of professional engineering experience. Requires 5 years of experience in each of the following: Polymer product design; Scientific injection molding process design; and Statistical and data analysis. Requires 3 years of experience with technical project management and computer-aided design software tools like SolidWorks. 40 hours/week, $126,443 - $126,443 per year.
