About The Position

The Engineer III position in Manufacturing Engineering at Thermo Fisher Scientific focuses on developing and qualifying new manufacturing processes to enhance productivity and efficiency across global manufacturing sites. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME preferred) with 5 years of applicable experience, or a Master's degree (MSME preferred) with 3 years of applicable experience, or a minimum of 12 years of applicable technical experience.
  • Experience in specification and qualification of manufacturing processes (manual and automated).
  • Ability to support technical engineering teams through process design and development.
  • Experience handling tasks across multiple projects.
  • Familiarity with engineering tools and methods such as DOE, FMEA, SPC, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience in designing and implementing automated processes for high-mix/low-volume production is desired.
  • Knowledge of applicable international standards (e.g., ISO, FDA) for process design is desired.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in MS Office and MiniTab (or equivalent).
  • Proficient in technical writing, including authoring engineering protocols, reports, and procedures.
  • Experience in Medical Device/Biopharmaceutical manufacturing (GMP, FDA, ISO 13485) is desired.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
  • A self-starter with a history of continuous improvement and a strong drive for results.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and qualify new manufacturing processes for Thermo Fisher Scientific SUD manufacturing sites.
  • Support site- and network-level process improvement initiatives.
  • Create and maintain value stream maps and line layouts.
  • Quantify process capabilities to improve productivity, capacity, and waste reduction.
  • Engage in all aspects of engineering efforts related to manufacturing processes.
