As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll leverage your strong foundation in physics, mathematics, and materials science to process and resolve mechanical problems, design and implement custom mechanical tooling and associated processes, and enable the handling, assembly, and disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and modifying mechanical engineering layouts, schematics, and specifications. You will oversee manufacturing and installation processes, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations-- and you'll coordinate the procurement and assembly of mechanical components and equipment for design projects, identifying sources of critical parts and subsystems to resolve technical issues.

Requirements

  • 6–10+ years semiconductor equipment or sub‑fab engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of facilities interfaces (gas/exhaust/PCW/electrical), interlocks, and system‑level behavior.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex installs with minimal oversight.
  • Experience guiding cross‑functional teams and influencing technical decisions.

Responsibilities

  • End‑to‑end tool subfab leadership: Own install planning, sequencing, utility alignment, design review, vendor oversight, and startup readiness across complex tools.
  • Sub‑fab system expertise: Lead troubleshooting and long‑term fixes for pump/abatement issues, thermal instability, vibration or flow problems; implement reliability improvements.
  • Cross‑functional technical leadership: Partner with BUs to align process needs with facility constraints; lead technical discussions to resolve design gaps or install blockers.
  • Incident prevention: Improve gas panel accuracy, interlocks, safety compliance, and evacuation‑related failure reduction across supported tools.
  • Project management: Deliver medium‑to‑large retrofit projects involving GWI, vendors, and external contractors.
  • Mentorship: Train Engineers I/II in troubleshooting, install execution, documentation standards, and safety protocols.
