About The Position

Engineer III - Highway for Modjeski and Masters, Inc. to work at our Charleston, WV loc. May telecommute up to 3 days/week. Complete performance evaluations of highway design through analysis. Ensure designs comply w/ AASHTO codes. Complete analysis + simulation of highway projects. Work w/ team on detailed design of highway projects. Prepare proposal documents incl technical details, goals, + project timeline. Draft construction specifications + special provisions. Prepare construction cost estimates. Act as mentor to Engineers in Training. Provide guidance to junior engineers ensuring understanding of software programs utilized for structural analysis. Work w/ clients, subconsultants, contractors, + fabricators under Project Manager supervision. Complete project-related documents + correspondences. Provide official Stamp for personally prepared engineering documents following state-specific requirements. With Sr. Engineers, present projects during conferences. May undergo background checks incl drug screen. National travel to conferences, trainings + client sites + local travel for site visits is possible, not to exceed 60 days per year or 5 days in a single trip. Must have Bachelors in Civil or Structural Engineering or rel field, 4 years rel exp working on highway design projects, and required skills (4 years exp). Alternatively, must have Masters in Civil or Structural Engineering or rel field, 3 years rel exp working on highway design projects, and required skills (3 years exp). Required skills: MicroStation, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, Autodesk, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D; AASHTO and MUTCD design standards; drainage software including HEC ‐ RAS; and cost-benefit analysis. Requirements

  • Bachelors in Civil or Structural Engineering or rel field, 4 years rel exp working on highway design projects, and required skills (4 years exp).
  • Masters in Civil or Structural Engineering or rel field, 3 years rel exp working on highway design projects, and required skills (3 years exp).
  • MicroStation, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, Autodesk, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D
  • AASHTO and MUTCD design standards
  • Drainage software including HEC ‐ RAS
  • Cost-benefit analysis
  • Must hold Professional Engineer certification.
