Coastal structure design alternative analysis and modeling. Living shoreline modeling of oyster castles to limit coastal sand erosion and marsh retreat. Statistical extreme value analysis. River sediment transport modeling and mitigation assessment. Dissemination of findings to peer-reviewed and conference journals.Requirements: Requires a Master’s in Coastal Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Port Engineering, or a related field plus one (1) year of experience as Coastal Engineer, or a related occupation involving coastal engineering design. Experience may be gained concurrently and must include one (1) year in each of the following: Coastal morpho dynamic and hydrodynamic modeling and assessment Coastal hazard assessment, including storm-induced coastal erosion and wave overtopping, flood inundation and routing and cable burial risk assessment Coastal structure design alternative analysis and modeling Living shoreline modeling of oyster castles to limit coastal sand erosion and marsh retreat Statistical extreme value analysis River sediment transport modeling and mitigation assessment Surface water hydrological modeling Storm and sewer pipe network alternatives modeling and assessment Dissemination of findings to peer-reviewed and conference journals.
