About The Position

Come join the Stormwater Engineering Center for an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that is delivering vital stormwater infrastructure with the City of Virginia Beach. This advertisement may be classified as an Engineer II or III, based on qualifications and experience of the selected applicant. The Selected Candidate will work in the Project management section of the Stormwater Engineering Center in the Department of Public Works. The individual will perform a variety of duties of a complex nature related to stormwater in highly varied land-use settings including urbanized and coastal environments.

• Experience in stormwater infrastructure systems
• Experience in project management for stormwater projects

Responsibilities

• Project management for the City's Stormwater Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects and projects funded by other sources
• Review of complex reports and studies for various stormwater infrastructure systems including conceptual designs, preliminary engineering reports, cost estimates, design calculations or computations, exhibits, plans, drawings and specifications for culverts, stormwater conveyance channels, pipes or systems, stormwater management facilities, stormwater pump stations and other specialty devices such as tide gates and barriers
• Overall project development including planning, design, engineering, and construction support
• Bid and contract management for design and construction
• Conducting and preparing materials for public meetings
