About The Position

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, space and crews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges. For work specific to Colorado Springs, JT4 supports the National Space Test and Training Complex (NSTTC) -- Electronic Domain portion of the range. JOB SUMMARY -- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES An Engineer II performs a variety of engineering assignments for the NSTTC. Duties include planning and overseeing research, design, development, manufacturing, testing, installation, integration, sustainment, operation, and maintenance of diverse software, electronic, and/or mechanical equipment and systems. Specifically, this position includes SATCOM RF research, development, test and analysis engineering.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and two years of related engineering experience or an accredited Master of Science in Engineering are required for this position.
  • Professional knowledge of applicable engineering concepts and principles
  • Familiarity with related engineering fields
  • Practical knowledge of test methods and practices sufficient to perform routine to more complex engineering procedures and to prepare or make minor modifications of standard test procedures or test equipment work instructions
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools
  • Planning/organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Perform as a team member for development, sustainment, or operations and maintenance team on engineering assignments
  • Independently perform a range of design, development, analysis, or review tasks under generally established project deadlines
  • Complete design specifications, analyses, or design reviews for engineering projects
  • Generate complete design specifications and requirements for more engineering projects
  • Coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements
  • Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures
  • Prepare, collaborate, and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies
  • Develop, maintain, and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications
  • Direct interface with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities
  • Acts as liaison for design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications
  • Conduct site visits and experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendation
