About The Position

Austin Bridge & Road has an outstanding opportunity available for an Engineer II to join our Heavy Civil project team in San Antonio, Texas. This role, on the Project Manager career track, supports key engineering functions, including procurement and expediting of construction materials, while driving excellence in heavy civil construction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 2-7 years of experience in large-scale heavy civil aviation construction projects
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated expertise in bridge and concrete construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction practices, techniques, and safety standards
  • Proficient in project management software and tools
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with a proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Experience in large-scale heavy civil aviation construction projects, including bridge and concrete work
  • Proficiency in using project management software
  • Strong understanding of construction safety protocols, particularly for heavy civil and bridge projects
  • Experience in managing subcontractors and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery

Responsibilities

  • Procure materials and ensure timely delivery
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for proposed changes
  • Update contract plans and master schedules
  • Oversee and manage submittals
  • Track materials, coordinate projects, and enforce safety standards
  • Analyze, review, and update job cost information
  • Process change orders per project owner requirements
  • Manage subcontractors effectively
  • Respond to RFIs from owners and subcontractors
  • Compile and deliver close-out documents, including drawings, warranties, and service manuals
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
