Role and Responsibilities Perform functions associated with improving and controlling the current processes or products manufactured at SAS facility. Daily tool sustaining including Tool-To-Tool Matching, tool qualifications, health checks, and monitoring critical production trends. Design and execution of experiments to set up new recipes for New Product Introduction, and audit to ensure matching to process flow. Data collection and interpretation of data to troubleshoot daily customer issues related to material properties or fabrication processes and provide reports with detail analysis. Work with engineers from different departments on multiple projects to improve the fabrication processes. Write, test, update, and implement accurate and precise SOP (Standard Operation Procedure). Work with multiple Metrology Engineers (Operations and Applications) on multiple projects to improve or build defense lines to improve product quality. Use technical and analytical skills to analyze SPC failures and Abnormal Lots (ALPS) Release. Support new technology transfers including performing fab-to-fab matching, Gauge R& R Study, measurement system analysis, recipe creation/optimization, baseline establishment. Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Engineering, or a related field and 12 months of experience in the job offered or a related occupation or in the alternative, PhD in Chemical Engineering, Material Engineering, or a related field.
  • Requires completion of a graduate-level course, research project, or internship involving the following:
  • Creating recipes, analyzing data, troubleshooting, and generating data-driven reports using X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, Ellipsometry, or similar mass-production metrology tools commonly used in the semiconductor industry
  • New technology transfer operations, including recipe research, troubleshooting, and rapidly developing new models to support critical customer needs
  • Tool theory and subsystem operation
  • Data analysis, including Design of Experiments (DOE), statistical process control, Gage R&R, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and tool-to-tool matching strategies
  • Developing and executing experimental plans, presenting results to internal and external customers
  • Semiconductor processes such as Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), Atomic Layer Etching (ALE), Reactive Ion Etching (RIE), and Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD)
  • Legacy and modern process node thin film structures
  • Following, developing, troubleshooting, and updating standard operating procedures.
