About The Position

This position designs and initiates fairly complex layouts for projects, develops scopes of work, and writes specifications for proposals. A degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This person should be capable of providing effective project management for medium-sized electrical projects from project inception through construction and installation. On assigned projects, the Engineer II shall organize the design, follow the specifications, coordinate procurement, and achieve the company's objectives regarding capacity, operability, economics, and timelines. Involved in the selection of approved contractors and will be part of the decision about which systems are best suited for a specific application and how they are to be installed. Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering or related field or equivalent engineering experience in the electrical field of automation controls and power distribution
  • 3 plus years of applicable engineering
  • Experience with Power Distribution automation controls design and installation, with a basic understanding of Arc Flash Hazard Analysis, Coordination Studies, Single line Diagrams, and control circuitry
  • Knowledge and use of computer programs, spreadsheets, databases, and scheduling programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of working on multi-faceted medium-sized projects while requiring limited supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to complete projects on time and on budget while achieving company objectives
  • Knowledge of a variety of Electrical Engineering and Process Engineering disciplines, concepts, practices and procedures
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes that pertain to the development of Electrical Engineering standards
  • Must reside in the United States to be considered

  • Food industry experience preferred
  • Microsoft Projects exposure preferred

Responsibilities

  • Designs and initiates fairly complex layouts for projects
  • Develops scopes of work and writes specifications for proposals
  • Provides effective project management for medium-sized electrical projects from project inception through construction and installation
  • Organizes the design, follows the specifications, coordinates procurement, and achieves the company's objectives regarding capacity, operability, economics, and timelines on assigned projects
  • Involved in the selection of approved contractors
  • Part of the decision about which systems are best suited for a specific application and how they are to be installed
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations by working with safety coordinators
  • Understanding and working within Tyson's safety regulations
  • Providing engineering design for new projects and utility systems
  • Coordinating project design work, including planning, design calculations, implementation, final walk-through, etc.
  • Interacts with other engineering disciplines
  • Maintains current project cost knowledge
  • Assumes responsibility for project cost management
  • Consults with accounting personnel relative to project accounting procedures and project costs
  • Interacts and coordinates project activities with all levels of Operations and Engineering management
