About The Position

The Engineer-Wholesale NOC role is primarily focused on providing technical support escalations within the Windstream Wholesale Network Operations Center (NOC). This position involves delivering training to NOC team members, assisting with chronic customer circuit issues, and identifying areas for improvement to enhance NOC efficiency. The engineer will proactively identify network conditions that need resolution to prevent service outages for Windstream Wholesale customers.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with telecom services including Ethernet, DWDM waves, Fiber Tower backhaul, and TDM
• Computer software knowledge to include Microsoft Office, custom planning tools and databases
• Good analytical, oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize projects
• Proficient knowledge of accepted engineering practices
• Analytical problem-solving skills
• Strong and energetic work ethic with the ability to be a team player

• Ability to recognize deviations from accepted practice
• Ability to stay current with the economic and technological developments in the industry

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical escalation point of contact for Wholesale NOC team members
• Provide fault management and technical analysis for customer circuits and network repair
• Analyze the performance of network systems and tools
• Perform engineering design evaluations of customer circuits and the Windstream national network
• Provide technical leadership and direction in areas of expertise for engineering staff
• Perform administrative work relating to projects and assignments
