Requirements

  • Master's degree, or Bachelor's degree with 2 years' experience, in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in structural analysis or mechanical design.
  • Experience with ANSYS or other FEA software.
  • Experience with manufacturing repair processes.
  • Experience using P&W fatigue and fracture mechanics lifing systems.
  • Experience with fatigue and fracture analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the structural assessments of repairs to hot and cold section commercial engine rotating components.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to provide design solutions that meet design and life requirements.
  • Work independently on structural analysis solutions when historical solutions are not available or applicable.
  • Conduct analysis including both classical methods and detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for strength, stress, vibration, fatigue life, and damage tolerance.
  • Coordinate with others to advance the technology and improve engineering standard work processes/methods, plus document and present results.
