Job Description: Microchip’s Frequency and Timing Systems group is a world leader in precise time solutions that are integrated into position, navigation, and time applications. The company generates, distributes, and applies precise time for communications, aerospace/defense, IT infrastructure, Cloud Data Centers, and national metrology laboratories. Microchip is seeking an entry-level Product Management Engineer to join our team. As a Product Management Engineer, you will support and grow the business in the US, Europe, and Asia. Position responsibilities include all aspects of product line management including defining system level solutions to meet customer requirements that included integration of hardware and embedded software along with server and cloud-based platforms, developing technical demonstrations of system solutions, and providing detailed technical proposals to meet customer requirements. You will work with a variety of technologies including GPS/GNSS satellite receiver systems and simulators, packet-based networking, software control and management systems, installation/configuration of virtual machines, and much more! The position will work closely with R&D development engineering, solutions architecture, and Microchip sales teams to develop technical solutions to meet diverse customer needs. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (EE, CE preferred)
  • Ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams and across multiple geographical locations
  • Work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical principles and results in written and verbal formats
  • Curious and creative regarding new concepts and technology
  • Ability to investigate and document customer requirements to set product development requirements for engineering and operations teams
  • Capture product requirements into a product/market requirements document and interact closely with Engineering to execute on roadmap features
  • Understand the business of the product line and build effective go-to-market plans and programs in collaboration with outbound marketing.
  • You will drive the launch of new products into targeted market segments
  • Business acumen to establish competitive product line strategies to assure the success of Microchip clock and timing products and services
  • Analytical and strategic thinker with the ability to execute
  • Ability to develop and present product and technical content at conferences
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (10-20% travel required)
  • US Citizen
  • Work experience of 0 - 3 years

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s in Business Administration, Master’s in Engineering Management, or equivalent
