We have an exciting role for a Manufacturing Technology Automation and Process Control Engineer (Electrical) / Engineer II at the Protein Solutions site in Memphis, Tennessee. Memphis Protein Solutions is part of the Food Ingredients division of IFF. The Manufacturing Technology Automation and Process Control Engineer (Electrical) / Engineer II role acts as a technical leader to maintain and improve the site’s controls and electrical infrastructure, applying technical skills to optimize plant operations, resolve plant problems, and enable safe and efficient production of low-cost, quality products. Memphis, TN, known as the “Bluff City” and “Birthplace of Rock ‘n’ Rock,” is in the southwest corner of TN along the Mississippi river. You will: Understand all applicable electrical equipment and control technology and work closely with the Manufacturing / Technical resources, operators, and technicians. Be responsible for the design, programming, and alteration of many types of PLCs, HMIs, PID loop controllers, VFDs, and other control devices. Provide technical advice to plant personnel to support operations to meet Business and plant goals. (EH&S, Production, cost, quality, energy, reliability, sustainability). Serve as the primary contact for area control systems, process data historians, and networks. Use fundamental engineering principles and concepts to lead troubleshooting of plant electrical and controls issues, and coach others to learn these skills. Identify, design, and implement process control improvements including migrations to newer platforms. Lead and support capital projects as required. Coach and mentor other engineers in plant controls, network infrastructure, and hardware architecture. Participate in and lead teams in your area of accountability. Participate in investigations of process control incidents and ensure follow-up actions are complete. Network with other engineers on-site and globally with Subject Matter Experts within the business to leverage technical knowledge. Implement best design practices to optimize operations and work to standardize process control logic and HMI interfaces across the facility. Champion electrical safety within plant roles including electrical procedure usage, creation, reviews, updates, and approvals. Be part of a team that provides support, as needed, to control systems across the site for 24/7 operation.
