About The Position

The City of Baltimore is seeking an Engineer II who will assign and review the work of engineers or perform engineering work of an innovative, complex nature. This role may involve leading engineers and supervising sub-professional engineering and other personnel. The Engineer II will receive general supervision from a technical superior and will work a conventional workweek in an office environment with minimal physical exertion. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Three years of experience in performing engineering work.
  • Engineer-In-Training certificate from the State of Maryland (some positions).
  • Engineering Technologist certification from NICET (some positions).
  • Current licensure as a Professional Engineer issued by the Maryland State Board of Professional Engineers or equivalent out-of-state license (some positions).
  • Valid Maryland Class C Non-Commercial driver's license or equivalent (some positions).

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in engineering may be substituted for the Bachelor of Science degree or for two years of experience requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Assign and review the work of engineers.
  • Perform engineering work of an innovative, complex nature.
  • Lead engineers and supervise sub-professional engineering and other personnel.
  • Develop engineering plans, designs, specifications, and material and cost estimates.
  • Write technical reports.
