About The Position

A Manufacturing Engineer develops, implements and maintains methods, tools, and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub assemblies and final assemblies. They interface with Design, Test, and Reliability Engineering to create successful product launches and to solve problems. They sustain products with cost reduction and yield improvements.

Requirements

  • Must have strong problem-solving attributes.
  • Skilled at communicating with and influencing design teams, vendors, and customers.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • 3+ years of relevant design/development team and/or manufacturing support
  • Bachelors Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline

  • 6-sigma or equivalent statistical, problem-solving methodology

Responsibilities

  • Performs an integral role on Product Design teams to drive designs that meet all cost and quality goals.
  • Reviews product requirements with design staff to ensure compatibility of processing methods.
  • Performs Design for Manufacturability analysis on new products.
  • Estimates manufacturing costs, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
  • Takes a leadership role in driving Continuous Improvement Projects to elevate product performance in manufacturing.
  • Implements manufacturing-industry best known methods in support of Continuous Improvement Projects to increase efficiency and effectivity of Production.
  • Analyzes work content for distribution to workcenters and capacity requirements.
  • Recommends and prepares changes, additions, and modifications which will facilitate manufacturing.
