About The Position

The Engineer II / III assists engineers by performing tasks and handling routine and complex aspects of engineering assignments within our Infrastructure business sector. Thin includes projects involving the design of pipelines, pump stations, lift stations, wells, and storage tanks & storage facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in in Civil/Environmental Engineering.
  • 2 – 6 years of experience.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills are essential.
  • Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • EIT licensure.
  • Must effectively communicate with all project team members.
  • Applicant must carry a valid driver's license.
  • Applicant must also be able to meet West Yost’s rules and be eligible to drive for business.
  • West Yost’s insurance carrier reserves the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering
  • Emphasis on environmental/water resources engineering is beneficial.
  • Coursework and research experience in water and wastewater supply, distribution and treatment, and water quality.
  • Ability to process engineering calculations unaided, compile plans and organize basic designs.
  • PE licensure in the State of Oregon or in the State of California.
  • PE licensure in other states in which the firm is actively practicing may also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Design, model, and analyze project elements.
  • Prepare design drawings, plans, sections, details, and profiles/sections within the Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD MEP.
  • Prepare contract documents suitable for bidding.
  • Perform field investigation and observation of construction projects.
  • Work on small projects or portions of larger projects as a team with other disciplines.
  • Prepare design calculations and construction cost estimates.
  • Determine permitting requirements for projects and conduct code analysis reviews.
  • Serve as a cross-disciplinary resource as applicable.
