About The Position

RK&K is hiring Drainage Engineers to join our successful and growing central Florida team. This position is in Tampa or Lakeland Florida. As a Drainage Engineer with RK&K, your responsibilities will include working with a team of engineers on the design of assigned projects. Projects will include, but not be limited to, support of local and statewide efforts in stormwater management and drainage design with an emphasis on scour, hydrology and hydraulics for transportation related projects. Clients include the Florida Department of Transportation and several municipalities. This position offers a hybrid work environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field
• Minimum Two (2) of experience in transportation engineering with a focus in drainage design
• Engineering Intern (E.I.) license in Florida or ability to obtain within six (6) months
• Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) design experience
• Open Roads Designer (ORD)/FDOT Connect experience

Nice To Haves

• Four (4) plus years of experience in water resources

Responsibilities

• Design and analysis of drainage and stormwater management systems
• Design and analysis of wet and dry ponds
• Design and analysis of floodplain compensation sites
• Prepare design documentation
• Prepare environmental permit drawings
• Work with other disciplines on creative solutions to design challenges
• Coordinate with clients and sub-consultants
